How to manage and open chrome browser extensions or plugins

As you know, we can install the chrome browser extensions / plugins from

chrome webstore

In this post, we will see how we can install / uninstall / open a particular extension in chrome browser.

 

Install –

 

Open –

To open a particular extension or app –

  • Navigate to chrome://apps
  • Click on particular app to open and use

You can even find the extensions side to your chrome address bar as icons, click on required icon to open.

 

Uninstall –

To find all the extensions or chrome apps installed –

 

Place chrome’s address bar to bottom of screen

On your android mobiles, you can move chrome browser’s address bar to the bottom of the screen, which helps to type the url addresses easily as bottom of screen is close to your hand, there’s feedback about the performance of this, so the first step you need to do is to update the full phone or computer device, and you might want to add a turbo booster for it to be smoother and faster, you can learn more here.

After you do the updates you can check the rest, for some this may not be much beneficial, but still you can experiment or give a try with chrome flags

  • Open Chrome browser on android
  • Click on the address bar and type

chrome://flags/#enable-chrome-home

and select “Enabled”


  • Restart your chrome browser, boom!!!

You will see your address bar at bottom of the screen

How to create and update chrome profile

We have seen how we can create a firefox profile and edit as per our need, so any time we can open firefox browser with browser settings previously set.

same way we will see how we can create a chrome profile and update the setting as per our need.

steps

  • Create a new folder, let’s say folder name “MyChromeProfile” under c:\ as c:\MyChromeProfile
  • Create a chrome shortcut on desktop

Navigate to Start | All Programs, right click Google Chrome and select Send to | Desktop, Rename to MyChrome 

  • Right click MyChrome and click Properties and paste –user-data-dir=c:\MyChromeProfile at end of target box




check if the target box should have

“C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe” –user-data-dir=c:\MyChromeProfile

  • Now double click shortcut MyChrome from desktop to work with chrome browser and edit or update chrome settings

OfflineInstaller – Mozilla Firefox browser

Earlier versions :

Chose required version | OS [Linux/mac/win32/64] | chose language [en-us] and then download the file to install.

Multiple versions of Firefox browser on single machine :

If you want to install any version of firefox other than your default path, then chose “custom” and enter directory [folder path other than the default path] to install and continue installation.
