How to take screenshot on Mac

On Mac, you can capture entire screen, a particular region or a window or dialog, we will discuss few shortcuts to achieve this

Capture entire screen

Shift () + Command (⌘) + 3

Above command will capture entire screen and place the image with extension .png on desktop.

Capture a particular region or a window

Shift () + Command (⌘) + 4

Cursor will turn to crosshair,

Capture a region – You can drag mouse to a region and release to capture a region on screen

Capture a window – With the above command, when cursor turns crosshair, press space bar so the cursor turns to camera, then move the mouse to any window / dialog shown on screen to capture.

As usual, the screenshot will be on desktop with .png

Note : If you want to cancel any capture, press Esc before releasing the mouse.
